madrid.....

Well three days down, 147 to go! Just kidding, I don't know how many days I have left, but I have done three days here. I'm learning how to get around by bus and metro. Is still haven't decided what I want to do to fill my time. I'd like to do french classes, but that all depends on how my dad takes the hints. Or maybe I could get a big loan from him. Guitar lessons, maybe? My room is small, but perfect, the kids are amazing, the parents are nice and the mom speaks such beautiful spanish. I love listening to her, even if she's just talking about her trip to the bank. I'm going to love it here IF I stay busy. I know blog entries are much better with pictures, but that is much more easy to do with the right chord, which is at home in Utah. So, I'll blog when I have cooler things to say. I love you, Jo! You are so cool! I miss you. That would be amazing if you could come out. We'd have a great time en Madrid.

barn dancing...

I've got barn dancing on the mind. I know that this Friday night there is an amazing midnight snack themed party (all should attend; I am), but much earlier that night in Mape town there is a barn dance.

Most barn dances have a rural, country, folk thing going on. Dosey doe's, alamand, squares, banjos, clapping... it's a really great time. But this Friday we're mixing it up. Ever read Pride and Prejudice? We're having a Ball!

My mom claims she's dressing up, but I'll believe it when I see it. I'm very excited.

The other most immediate thing that is exciting me right now is the fact that yesterday it was forty-five degrees out. Swinging season is just around the corner! Love you, Jo!

full moon

(haz click en el titulo)
today was a cold day, but i was prepared.
i wore two pairs of pants. at the same time.

one thing about winter: it makes swinging a thing of the past.
i walk a lot.
there's a swing set on my way home that i've never swung on. that may sound unadventursome of me, and it is, but it's behind a fence and, well, it's been a little cold lately.

it's a great little swing set. probably not the best by most standards, but it's just two little swings all alone behind the payday loan center. i've often wanted to hop the fence (and i would too, if i had a partner in crime) but today, as i walked quickly past and caught a clear vision of my swing set, i realized i wouldn't.
no, the fence is not too high. no, i'm not afraid of being caught.

it's too durn cold.

and wet, now, with the snow.

alas.

The non-traditional or “post-Kantian” view of Hegel

not that this is in any way a greg blog, but i have to say it was not cool of him to volunteer me to talk in class today. not that i really care, i knew it was half-baked and a stretch to boot, but still, no singling out, man. not cool.
